@herzogdemeuron conversion of a complex of more than a dozen buildings, including the former Central Police Station, Victoria Prison and Central Magistracy. The decade-long project is a tour de force of architecture, at once brutal (reflecting its history as a space of incarceration) and jarring, yet conversely elegant and masterful in merging old and new. The complex generously gives Hong Kong a number interlocking public squares and acts as a frame to view the city.
